Rusty Plane Woodworks is run by Dave, the sole proprietor, designer and builder.  He has worked with wood for most of his life. There is nothing he enjoys more than a rare piece of wood, fine joinery and a beautiful finished piece.  He strives for perfection on every piece.  He works on every piece himself with the occasional help of assistants.  Some of his woodworking inspirations include Stickley, Maloof, White and Nakashima.  He is a member of the Furniture Society.  He is a part-time woodworker when not at his day job. 

He enjoys many classic furniture styles, but is striving to create his own unique style as he designs and builds one of a kind custom pieces.  He is working diligently toward the creation of his own unique style.  He tries to make each piece a "collector's item".

In addition to furniture his love of boats has led him to the building of boats as well.  Contact him if you are passionate about paddling a handmade wooden canoe or kayak.
